Among the challenges faced by our Muballighin in Tabligh activities is to correct the distortion by Wahhabis against Madhab Ahlul Bayt (a.s.). A point for discussion is the members of Ahlul Bayt (a.s).
As part of our continuous professional development programme a One day Staff Development Seminar was held on May 20, 2008 at Bilal Hall.
The main theme of discussion in this seminar was the exegesis of the Ayatu Tathir Verse no.33 in Suratul Ahzab of the Holy Quran.
The sub topics included:
Isma - ‘Infallibility’
Jabr and Tafweedh – ‘Free will and Compulsion’
Imamat ‘Leadership’
The seminar was attended by 14 Muallims of Madrassah and Masjid Imams from Bilal Muslim Mission Centers in the
Rural areas. The topic was eloquently expounded by Sheikh Husayn Baydhun, Imam of Masjid Hasanain, Mombasa.
In his address he responded to various questions such as:
- Why wives of Holy prophet (s.a.w.w.) are not included in the Ahlul Bayt
- Why 14 infallibles yet only 5 people were covered with the cloth
- Why Lady Zainab, Fatima Ma’suma and Hazrat Abbas among others are not in the set of Isma yet are among the people of the House.
This event was an educative seminar which benefited the participants a lot. They got intellectual answers to the above burning questions.
Comments from participants:
- I have been strengthened to discuss that the wives of Holy Prophet are not part of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.)
- The section on explaining our Aqeeda that the holy imams are part of Ahlul Bayt was enlightening.
In continuation with promoting staff development of our muballighin it is proposed to organize additional sessions on residential basis in Mombasa.
