Careers Workshop for KCSE Students Print E-mail


On 13th August 2007, a Careers Advise Program was held at Bilal Hall, Mombasa, for ZCSS-WF sponsored students who have completed Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.

The programme started with the following assessments:

- Quran recitation and Islamic Knowledge in regards to various subjects like Aqaid, Tarikh, Akhlaq and Fiqh.
- Services rendered to the community at the Rural centers.

The participants were taken through mind boggling and participative training on the following:

a) To identify students areas of interest and ambition in regards to their results.
b) To state their current position / errands in their daily lives.
c) To determine their course of action and field of study they wish to venture.

Thereafter, they were allowed to present their experiences after KCSE. This session motivated others to follow suit and preoccupy in kinds of income generating activities.

They were also addressed on how to budget and save. They were advised to be ambitious and have intentions to pursue further for relevant Technical / Vocation or Degree courses. Their savings can then contribute for such pursuit.

 

Another workshop was held on 7th August 2007 for students from primary and secondary schools, also sponsored by ZCSS – WFED.

These students were taken through the following training:

- To appreciate the assistance accorded and to equally benefit by working industriously.
- To maintain etiquettes and good morals of a Muslim.
- To continue reciprocating with the Shia Islamic religious knowledge.
- To register improved performances for the donors to continue supporting.
- To commit themselves to demonstrate good discipline, continue with Madrassah classes during vacation and actively participate in centre activities.


The students were interviewed individually and addressed. The students then committed in writing that they will endeavor to register improved results and actively participate in Rural centre activities.
