Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya was honoured to receive the WFED Secretary General Br. Yasin Rahim during his recent visit to Mombasa on 12th / 13th February, 2006. He was accompanied by Br Safder Jaffer Chairman IEB –WFED and Haji Zulfikar Dewji Chairman Central Bilal Board –AFED. The central and core purpose of this visit was to observe first hand the work undertaken by front line workers in delivering the Tableegh Agenda. An elaborate programme was organised to visit five Bilal centres in the Rural Areas of Coast province.

Braving the hot sun and bad condition of our roads the Office Bearers travelled to the Rural areas to see the Madaris, Nursery, Primary schools and the Masajid projects. They met with the Community Elders, Parents and the children. They were able to witness the Azadari of Seyyidu Shuhada being observed in Kiswahili at the Centres. During the visits, they shared our joys and concern and saw the structures, some dilapidated and some requiring major renovations. In certain areas they expressed the need to build new ones to supplement our efforts to propagate Madhhabe Haq. In addition they emphasised on looking into ways and means of empowering our deprived Shia Community in the Rural areas.
In addition to a meeting with the BMMK officials, Br Yasin Rahim conducted an interactive workshop for the Committee members. Themes of economic upliftment and empowerment of the Communities in the Centres were emphasized. Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya was commended for its Tableeghy activities and assured of continued support from the World Federation at all times. |
