Husayn Day Seminar 1429 AH

“Infringement of any right of a human being may cause serious dangerous outcomes. If there is any human right to observe then the  right to life should be number one and the rest to follow… Imam Husayn (a.s) was denied such a right …!”

These were words mentioned by Ustadh Ali Bahero in his speech during this year’s Husayn Day seminar.

This year’s Husayn Day seminar was held on Saturday 8th March 2008 at Samburu Secondary School. It was the eleventh successive Husayn Day held in form of a seminar. The seminar was attended by more than 650 students representing 14 secondary schools from Kinango, Kwale, Mombasa and Kilifi Districts. The theme for this seminar was IMAM HUSAYN A.S. and that of Imam Husayn and his ascendants. Thereafter Ustadh Ali Bahero
dwelt on the theme of the seminar i.e. IMAM HUSAYN A.S. AND HUMAN RIGHTS.
It was a thought provoking lecture linking the event of Ashura to the contemporary
events.

Comments by students of Jaffery Academy, Mombasa

“For some of us, it was our 1st visit to Samburu Secondary School and more over it was a memorable experience. We prayed under the open sky. For some of us, this was a 1st time experience. We gained a lot from the lectures given by different Speakers. The question & answer session was held. The audience could ask any question concerning Imam Husayn (as) and Islam. Questions were very well answered and explained by the Speakers”.

It is reckoned that this format of Husayn Day is an effective important part of Azadari of Imam Husayn (a.s.) whereby youths of different localities and diverse backgrounds actively participate in discussing the mission of Imam Husayn (a.s.).

Sincere thanks and prayers are for those who have worked tirelessly in making necessary arrangements and to those who have made generous contributions to ensure success of the seminar.  May Allah SWT grant them all Ajr-e-Azeem in this world and hereafter – Amin.
