COMEMMORATING THE WAFAT OF IMAM JAFFAR SADIQ (A.S) AND THE DEMOLITION OF BAQEE IN MADINA. To mark the wafat of Imam Jaffar Sadiq (a.s) and the demolition of the graveyard of Baqee in Madina, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya organized a special function on 2nd October 2010 at Bilal Hall, Mombasa. This function commenced at around 3:30 pm with the recitation of the Holy qur’an by Ustadh Khallid Ahmad which was then followed by a qaswida from students of Madrasah Ameerul Mu’minin, Matuga. |
 
| The first speech was delivered by Muallim Idi Abdallah and dealt on the issue of the demolition of the graveyard of Baqee. He began by explaining the background history of the gardens of Baqee right from the time of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w). Muallim Idi Adallah enlisted various members of the Prophet’s family who were buried there. He further pointed out that the Prophet (s.a.w.w) used to visit the graveyard during the early mornings. He concluded his speech by saying that the demolition of the graves of the members of the Holy Prophet’s (s.a.w.w) family was unfortunate and was meant to erase crucial historical information and sunnah of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w) |  |
 | In the second part of the function, Sheikh Athman Swabir delivered the speech on the wafat of Al Imam Jaffar Sadiq (a.s). He gave a detailed account on the Imam’s life and his contribution in creating strong institutions where renowned muslim scholars were nurtured from the Imam’s immense knowledge. Sheikh Athman Swabir insisted on the fact that, the best way to remember Imam Jaffar Sadiq (a.s) and Ahlul Bayt (a.s), is by following their teachings to the letter saying that Ahlul Bayt (a.s) constitutes an exemplary to the mankind. The program was concluded by Ustadh Jamali Kasole by giving the vote of thank Sheikh Sajjadali Musa recited the dua and Ziyarat of Masumin. Niyaz was distributed at the end of the program. |  |
