SEMINAR ON CIVIC EDUCATION PROPOSED CONSTITUTION OF KENYA
With the upcoming referendum on Proposed Constitution of Kenya the Mission organised a seminar facililated by MUHURI (Muslim for Human Rights) on June 29th, 2010 at Bilal Hall, Mombasa. Mualims-in-Charge from the BMMK Centers and HWG Centres attended this function. The objective of the Seminar was to create awareness to the Proposed Constitution and to understand it before making any decisions. The seminar commenced with a recitation of Dua | | | The facilitator Mr. Francis Auma began by introducing MUHURI which basically is not for Muslim only but for all Kenyan and which deals with Human Rights abuse in Kenya. He tackled the issue of why a new Constitution was drafted. The second facilitator Mr. Frederick Okado delibarated on: Why were colonial laws adopted instead of the Kenyan ones? | |
On behalf of MUHURI, Mr. Frederick Okado thank the Mission for having invited them at this seminar. Muallim Ali Wando presented a vote of thanks on behalf of the participants and Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya.
