HOLY RAMADHAN RELIEF/EID APPEAL 1431 AH 

As the Holy month of Ramadhan is approaching, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya has once again started its preparation to experience the joy and excitement felt in the hearts of our most deserving muslim brethrens to welcome this Holy month.
 
As we prepare ourselves for the Holy Month of Ramadhan, it is essential for us to also remember the less fortunate in the Society.

Like in the previous years, the Mission is organizing to provide for Iftar / Sehri assistance at Masjids in the Rural Centres and to other deserving Shia Brethren.

In the Holy month of Ramadhan 1430 AH, Iftar assistance was provided at 26 Masjids in the Rural Centres. More than 3169 families residing in the Urban and Rural centres benefited from the food distribution. Ration was also provided to 4 Boarding Secondary schools and Inmates of Shimo la Tewa Borstal / Prison. Iftar Funds were distributed at 7 schools in Lamu through Shabab Ahlul Bayt. Ithna Asheri Young Mens Union, Mombasa distributed food packets to the families at Moyeni centre.

The food items distributed :

Item Quantity Maize Meal 106,308 kgs Wheat Flour 8,436 kgs Sugar 3,300 kgs Cooking Oil 5,440 litres Yeast 10.5 kgs Beans 3,690 kgs Rice 2,750 kgs Tea 280 kgs Dates 940 kgs

All this has been possible due to the generous contributions received from Mumineen toward the Holy Ramadhan Relief.

The Mission would like to continue its efforts in providing food items to the deserving Shia brethrens during the Holy Month of Ramadhan 1431 AH.

The Estimated cost of:

Iftar for one day at a centre: GBP 39.13, US $ 60, Can $ 62.5, Ksh.4,500/-

Ration per family for a month : GBP 30.43, US $ 46.67, Can$ 48.61, Ksh.3,500/ -

Special 5 part series of Radio Programme: ‘Hidaya Ya Ramadhan’, includes recital of Ahadith, Shahru Ramadhan Duas, Qasidas and highly informative lectures conducted by well versed speakers.   Cost for Broadcasting One Radio Program: GBP 165.22, US $ 253.33, Can $ 263.89 Ksh.19,000/-

Eid Gifts, provided to students, teachers and deserving persons. 1 Unit of Eid Gift : GBP 3.61, US$ 4, Can $ 4.17, Ksh.300/-

Special programmes conducted in various masjid at the centres during the holy month of Ramadhan :

*  Recitation and tafseer of Holy Quran.  *  Dua Iftitah, Dua Tawassul and Dua Kumayl  * Lectures on significance of the holy month, Ahkam of Sawm  * Commemoration of historical events e.g Wiladat Imam Hassan (as.), Wafat of Bibi Khadija (as), Wafat of Imam Ali Bin Abitalib (as).  * Amal of Laylatul Qadr is performed on the respective nights.  (Sehri is served).  * Zahra Womens Group also arranges for the Laylatul Qadr aamals on 23rd of Mahe Ramadhan.  * Daily Iftar is served after Magribain prayers.
