The fire destroyed their belongings leaving most of the habitants without basic necessities such as food, clothing and shelter. The electricity poles were burnt along with the wires leaving the entire town in darkness.
In order to assist the brethrens of Faza, a team from Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya visited the Faza Island which was turned down to ashes.

Ust. Jamal Abdallah Kasole, BMMK representative, delivered a brief speech to the victims of this tragedy on behalf of the Chairman, Alhaj Abbas Nasser extending condolences and reminding them that during these difficult times they should remain steadfast in their faith and should not despair.
