Mahe Ramadhan 1430 AH Report Print E-mail

Bilal Mission of Kenya would hereby like to extend its appreciation to the KSI Jamaats of Africa, World Federation and all the donors for their immense support during this auspicious Month. This kind gesture made it possible for us to not only bring a smile on the faces of the most deserving but also to assist in continuation with our ongoing practice of organizing Iftar / Sehri assistance for the deserving Shia Brethren.

Iftar assistance was provided at 26 Masjids in the Rural Centres. More than 3169 families residing in the Urban and Rural centres benefited from the food distribution. Ration was also provided to 4 Boarding Secondary schools and Inmates of Shimo la Tewa Borstal / Prison. Iftar Funds were distributed at 7 schools in Lamu through Shabab Ahlul Bayt. Ithna Asheri Young Mens Union, Mombasa distributed food packets to the families at Moyeni centre.  

Daily Iftar preparation was done by the community ladies and served after Magribain prayers.

Several programmes were conducted in various masjid at the centres to mark the holy month of Ramadhan.  Special visits were organized to impart religious information at all the centre by Ustd. Ramadhan Mlala’s. 

This was followed by recitation and tafseer of Holy Quran, Dua Iftitah, Dua Tawassul and Dua Kumayl.  Lectures were conducted on significance of the holy month, Ahkam of Sawm  

Programs to commemorate the historical events such as Wiladat Imam Hassan (as.), Wafat of Bibi Khadija (as), Wafat of Imam Ali Bin Abitalib (as) were organized.

Amal of Laylatul Qadr were performed on the respective nights followed by Sehri.Zahra Womens Group also organized Laylatul Qadr aamals on 23rd of Mahe Ramadhan for the students in Mombasa, Mtongwe and Kisauni. 

A special 5 part series of Radio Programme: (‘Hidaya Ya Ramadhan’) was aired on PWANI FM 104.7 Radio Station of Kenya Broadcasting Corporation from Friday 4th September – Tuesday 8th September, 2009. This Programme contained recital of Ahadith, Shahru Ramadhan Duas, Qasidas and highly informative lectures conducted by well versed speakers Sheikh Abdillahi Nassir, Ustadh Muhammad Dumilla and Ustadh Athman Swabir   

Salatul Eid ul Fitr was organized at all centres and food was served. 

Arrangements were made for distribution of Eid Gifts to the children in the Madarasah and all Muallimeen at the centres.
