The sun beating down mercilessly….Inadequate long rains…. Drought in several provinces……..Soaring prices of food………Everyone is yearning for Maize – the only staple food. End product is of course famine which has now engulfed the Nation.
 | The Government has declared the situation as a National Emergency. Most people in hard-hit rural areas and in city slums manage to have just one unbalanced meal per day. Starving children leads to declining attendance in Madrasah and schools…… |  | | Dried Fields of Maize | Cactus plant berries eaten by adults. It kills the appetite so that the little food available is given to children. |
All combine to paint a grim picture of famine/drought situation in various parts of Kenya. It is causing much discomfort to the affected families. As a result of the deteriorating situation, our activities are correspondingly affected in the rural areas. We have distributed 8010 kg maize to 265 families. In order to continue assisting the needy, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya has launched an appeal for providing Relief Food to the affected families. A bag of 90 kgs Maize costs KShs.3000/- (STG PDS 30/- / US $ 40/- / CAN $50/-) You are invited to contribute towards the famine relief fund.
No matter how small your contribution, it will go a long way in feeding a deserving family. Your positive response in helping to ease the pangs of hunger and alleviate human suffering as a result
will be in keeping with the teachings of Ahlul Bayt (a.s). You may donate for the thawab of your beloved Marhumin. |  |
