• Bilal Hall, Mombasa To commemorate the tragedy of Kerbala, the annual programme of Majlis in Kiswahili was held from 29th December, 2008 to 6th January 2009, at the Bilal Hall, Mombasa. The programme included recitation of Holy Qur'an and Utenzi (Marthiya) and Majlis in Kiswahili. The attendance was gratifying including ladies. The majority of the audience was Non-Shia brethren.  | The Majlis were recited by Sharif Ahmed Badawy, Sheikh Abdillahi Nassir, Ustadh Muhammad Dumila, Ustadh Ali Bahero and Ustadh Jamal Kasole, On Ashura Night the majlis attendants participated in the Julus (Ashura procession) organised by the Ithna Asheri Young Men's Union. All the majlis have been recorded for circulation. This will spread the message to the wider public. | • Rural Centres Similar programmes were held at 15 mosques in our Rural Centres where Majalis were recited by Madrasah Muallim. Sabil-e-Husayn was arranged. On Ashura day Julus procession was organized and Niyaz was served after the procession. • Multi Media Outreach : Radio Broadcast ProgrammesMsiba Wa Karbala (Tragedy of Karbala), Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya Radio Production, hit the airwaves on KBC Pwani FM 1 04.7 Radio Station from January 2nd to 6th, 2009 between 8.25 pm to 9.00 pm. The five part series were aimed at educating our listeners about the Ahlul Bayt, Imam Husayn (a.s), the Tragedy of Karbala and its historical background. In addition to recital of Ahadith, Marsiyas in Kiswahili and Matam, highly informative talks were delivered by Sheikh Abdillahi Nassir and Ustadh Muhammad Dumila. |  | At the end of each program, simple questions are posed to stimulate interaction with listeners and encourage them to continue tuning in. A special Radio Broadcast delivered by Sharif Aidarus Alawy Mzee Mwenya was aired on KBC National Radio - Kiswahili Service on Ashura Night. These were humble contributions towards Aza of Imam Husayn a.s. Our prayers are for acceptance of these deeds and abundant reward for all muminin who have contributed towards the success of these programmes.
