Opening Ceremony: Moyeni Centre; 2008 Print E-mail

 

OPENING CEREMONY OF MASJID AHLIL BAYT, MADRASAH AND PRE-PRIMARY CLASSROOMS IN MOYENI CENTRE

On completion of the Opening ceremony at Imam Mahdy Centre, in Burani village, the entourage proceeded to Moyeni village, 52 kms south of Mombasa in Kinango District to grace the Opening Ceremony of Ahlul Bayt Centre of Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya on November 30, 2008.

Ahlul Bayt  centre was first established in 1985. Activities include Madrasah, Pre-Primary School, Islamic Religious Education in Primary School and Ibadah Programs in Masjid.

The project at Moyeni involved extension and renovation of the Masjid Ahlul Bayt, construction of four new classrooms block, house for the Masjid Imam and installation of Rainwater catchment tanks.

 This project has been jointly sponsored by Family of Marhum Ali Mohammed Jaffer, Alhaj Sajjad Rashid, KSI Jamaats of Africa Federation, Al Haj Amir Amersi Sunderji (Canada), M/s. Orison Charitable Trust, M/s. Fauzia & Mohsin Jaffer Foundation and other anonymous donors.

The entire community including women and children had gathered for the function. Local community leaders, Kinango County Councillor, and students lined up to welcome guests as Qasidas were being recited.

 After recitation from the Holy Quran, the visitors were welcomed by Mulla Sajjadali G Musa

The Masjid Imam Ustadh Ammar Mtengo, spoke on the occasion outlining the history of the local communities, the challenges and problems encountered in the village.

On behalf of the Chairman of Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya  Al Haj Abbas H. M. Nasser, Al Haj Fazle Abbas M Bhanji (Hon. Secretary-BMMK)  thanked the local communities for their resolve and enthusiasm in upholding the faith and working together in harmony for the betterment of the community. He urged the parents to give priority to education of their children in Madrasah and Schools so that they may be capable serving in government and private sectors.

The Opening Ceremony of Masjid, Classroom and Muallim House was done by Sheikh Husayn Baydhun, Imam - Masjid Hasnayn, Mombasa.  This was followed by performance Zohrain Salat in Ahlul Bayt Masjid.

 After salaat, the Chief Guest Sheikh Baydhun Husayn, delivered a Khutba elaborating on the belief in Imam Al Mahdi by all muslims.
Students of Madrasah Ahlul Bayt presented Qasidas and Ahadith recitals.
 Sheikh Fazleabbas Datoo from the Bilal Secretariat whilst presenting the vote of thanks, emphasized upon the local community to play an active role in implementing the BMMK programs of empowerment. He commended the community for having one of their members Mohamed Bande, as a Councillor to the Kinango County Council.  The community was urged to aim for higher representation in the local Government and the Nation.

 At the end of the programme Niyaz was served to all visitors and the entire community at Moyeni Village. Sweets and Biscuits were distributed to the children appreciation to the donor for this kind donation. Image
All in the entourage will recall the festive atmosphere and the warm welcome displayed by the residents. In keeping with the local traditions the Centres were decorated with buntings and leaves.
