MADRASAH MILK PORRIDGE PROGRAMME 2008:

The provision of milk porridge to all the Madrasah students at BMMK centres was initiated in July 2008 under the sponsorship of Imam Sahibu Zaman Trust (U.K).  The trust has committed to provide a monthly grant of Sterling pounds (£ 250) for a period of two years starting from July 2008.

The allocation of the fund to the madrasah is done on rota system.  Students are provided with porridge cooked from flour of bulrush millet, milk and sugar on Saturdays and Sundays.  The community ladies volunteer to cook the porridge.

This programme has benefited the cause of tableegh in many ways:

• A supplement of food is being provided to the children drawn from poor backgrounds.
• It has attracted more students / bigger enrolments in our Madrasahs.
• The students eagerly learn the faith / doctrines of Ahlul Bayt (as) in Madrasah and also actively participate in daily prayers, wafat and wiladat occasions and other activities at the centre.

• The attendances during the weekdays of lower section in the afternoons and upper section in the evenings have even improved.
• During the weekends the Madrasah sessions are from morning to evening thus students do not miss the afternoon sessions.

Appreciation from the local community:

• The Muslim Shia Community of all the centres have sincerely appreciated this programme especially at this difficult times when the Nation is faced with harsh economic crisis, drought and famine especially within the environs of our centres.
• The Muslim Shia Community has also conveyed their heartfelt duas to all those who have contributed worthily towards this programme and pray that Allah (SWT) grant them strength for the sustenance of this programme (Amin).
